What Do Hieroglyphs Have to Do with Data Integrity

Five years ago, I wrote a post about my son – back then, a young superhero fan deeply immersed in Rick Riordan’s books. He’s grown since then, but one thing hasn’t changed: his curiosity to understand what lies behind the symbols.
Back then, we went through our “hieroglyphs phase” — diving into Egyptian mythology, translating symbols, and even planning virtual trips to ancient temples. I remember finding an image online that I thought was about offering flowers — only later realizing it could easily be misread. And that realization stayed with me.
In the world of Data Integrity, the ability to read, interpret, and truly understand information is not just technical — it’s human. If a single misinterpreted hieroglyph could change a story, imagine what unclear data could do in a regulated environment.
We make decisions every day based on information. It’s not enough for the data to exist — it must be reliable, complete, and clear. And if something isn’t clear — ask.
Because even after all these years, I still believe: Data Integrity is intuitive. It’s not just a regulatory requirement — it’s a way of thinking, and a way of life.
